Thanks for adding me to the forum ,I used to visit Shapwick regulary in the 60s ,we stayed at Mrs Chalks house at Hawkpit cottages ,( I think my old man used to work on a farm for the Chalks in the 50s ) It was a bit of a culture shock coming from Liverpool but I enjoyed every minute of it and wished I could live there permanently ,the pig farm ,milking cows , the well in granny Framptons ,the Anchor , the rings , the church and the river , the friendliness of every one , all great great memories ...all the very best Alex
